The paintings in “In the End Green” consist primarily of green color fields. They are light green and dark green Layers of paint that form a composition. The paintings are named after first names. The abstract images appear modern and understated. They need good light to unfold their full effect.
Between the composition and the title of the paintings, the abstract becomes concrete.
Dark green "shadows" can be seen on the green color fields of the paintings. In abstract form, they are the shadows of an enormous, moving whirlwind. They appear powerful, dynamic and at the same time menacing.
Every painting in the “In the End Green” series bears a common first name as its title. The connection between people and nature becomes particularly clear here, since names are also used to designate high- and low-pressure weather systems. The abstract forms can therefore be associated with something very concrete.
"Thick, colorful layers of paint are poured onto the canvas lying on the floor. Small things from woods and meadows are placed into the paint. Once finally dry, painting and sanding alternate again and again – until the shadows of a weather front appear."
Optimal presentation of modern paintings requires plenty of light – interior design ideas.
Presented properly, the paintings in the “In the End Green” series can look very sophisticated and modern. Unlike paintings with strong contrasts, the eye can only grasp this type of painting if it can perceive the depth of color in combination with the fine structures in every detail. Sufficient light is therefore truly essential. A spotlight can help the painting fully unfold its elegant appearance.
Complex structures in green: the priming.
The priming was built up from thick, colorful layers of acrylic paint. In addition, leaves and branches as well as their imprints can be seen everywhere. This creates an organic tactility that – sometimes clearly, sometimes subtly – remains even after the painting is finished. After drying, the primed pictures are sanded with sandpaper and sealed with binder. Only then does the painting on the canvas begin.
The color green stands for nature and thus for us.
Very thin layers of different shades of green, ocher, brown, yellow, and blue are applied. After several layers of paint, a green color depth emerges that blends elegantly with the complex textures of the priming. The green recalls the complexity of nature.
